International field school "Ethnolinguistics"

This project aims to develop the linguistic and cultural concept of the original places of Kamchatka's residents' habitations

The expedition stages are held :

The village of Tigil on the western coast of Kamchatka

The program includes the following studies:

* Ethnolinguistics;

* Linguocultural studies;

* Dialectology;

* Semantics of dialects;

! Russian and foreign specialists from leading scientific and educational centers of the Far East, theorists and experts are invited to participate in the project.

! Working languages: Russian and English.

The organization fee for participation is 25000 rubles per person. There are privilege costs, provided for specialists, who participate in the activities of the Camp as the instructors of SYR and field research works.

Applications are to be submitted to the International Division of Scientific Department of Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University. They may be sent either from higher educational institutions, which plan to send the undergraduates and postgraduates to the Camp or individually from the undergraduates, postgraduates, and instructors.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2009.

* The terms of the expedition can be changed.

** Students must be in good health, be capable undertaking long, strenuous hikes carrying substantial loads, and be willing to camp under primitive and remote conditions.
